Margaret Jane Koenig-Peterson
May 6, 1956 - August 26, 2019
Margaret Jane Koenig-Peterson, age 63, died peacefully, surrounded by her family on Monday, August 26, 2019 at Fairview Southdale Hospital in Edina. Margaret was born on May 6, 1956 and was adopted lovingly by Joseph J. and Marcella J. (Bendzick) Koenig. She graduated from New Prague High School. She raised 3 successful children and kept them all together. Her heart was like no other. She had a lot against her but she cared about no one else’s direction in child rearing; her children were her gold and her life’s blood. She never gave up on them, did her job, and did it excellently. Her family was her top priority and she enjoyed time with them above all else. She also loved cooking and exploring new restaurants. She got excited with any kind of shopping experience. More recently, she and Mark enjoyed fishing excursions.
Margaret is survived by her significant other, Mark Iverson; children, Carmen A. Koenig-Wagner (Bryce Halverson), Richard G. Millard (Angie Heiberger), Rebecca Jane (Robert) Drogue; grandchildren, Branden, Hunter, Tony, Kyle, and Kaiden; siblings, Karl (Brenda) Koenig, Mary (Paul) Mullenmeister, Trudy Koenig, Richard Koenig, Ronald Koenig, Judy (Wallace) Wendel. She is preceded in death by her parents; brother, John Koenig; sister, Toni Norling; nephew, John Mullenmeister.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday, August 31, 2019 at 12:00 Noon at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Union Hill with Father Eugene Theisen officiating. Visitation will take place Saturday morning from 9 – 11:30 at Bruzek Funeral Home. Burial will occur at a later date and lunch will follow Mass at the KC Hall.

I will never forget the time we made the pound cake at the farm and no one would eat it and we had to throw to the pigs and they wouldn’t even eat it.
