Silverius Becker, age 84, of New Prague, died Friday, June 14, 2013 at his home.  Silverius was born June 20, 1928 in Faribault, MN to Alphonse & Catherine (Huss) Becker.  He attended Le Sueur County District School at Union Hill and New Prague High School.  He married Cecilia K. Stelten on June 19, 1954 at Guardian Angels Catholic Church in Chaska.  The couple made their home on a farm near Cedar Lake where Silverius was a dairy farmer.  Silverius was a faithful member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church and a member of the Knights of Columbus.  He enjoyed being around his family, the outdoors, playing cards, working with animals, and following the Minnesota Twins.

Silverius is survived by his wife, Cecilia; children, Mary Becker (& special friend, Tom Rice) of Eden Prairie, Jim (& Jean) Becker of New Prague, Kathy (& Curt) Mages of Hastings, Dave (& Peggy) Becker of Osseo; Grandchildren, Kelsey, Kyle, & Maggee Becker, Kristen, Suzanne, & Michelle Mages, Joseph (& Jessica), Jonathan, Michala, Melody, Benjamin, Jesse, Joshua, Jeremiah, Justin, & Jedidiah Becker; Great-grandchild, Matthew Becker; Sister, Sister Jean Becker of Campbellsport, WI; sisters-in-law, Jeanette Becker of New Prague, Clara Stelten of Chaska.  He is preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Susan Becker; brother, Ambrose Becker; sister, Sister Eunice Becker.

Mass of Christian Burial Monday, June 17, 2013 at 10:30 AM at St. Patrick Catholic Church, St. Patrick, MN with Father Orlando Tatel officiating.  Visitation Sunday from 4 – 8 PM and Monday from 7:30 – 10:00 AM at Bruzek Funeral Home.  Casketbearers will be grandchildren, Kelsey, Kyle, & Maggee Becker, Kristen, Suzanne, & Michelle Mages, Joseph, Jonathan, & Michala Becker. Interment will occur at St. Patrick Cemetery and lunch will follow in the church social hall.
