Patty Sirek
January 27, 1961 - November 3, 2021
Patricia A. “Patty” Sirek, age 60, of Elko, died peacefully on Wednesday, November 3, 2021 as a result of complications of Covid-19 at Northfield Hospital. Patty was born on January 27, 1961 in New Prague to Richard F. and Eleanor A. “Ellie” (Svoboda) Sirek. Patty graduated from New Prague High School and was a life-long resident of the Lonsdale/New Prague area. Her heart was in the farm that she lived on with her mother and father. Patty never turned down a task asked of her and worked with determination and energy. She had various jobs, including as a custodian at New Prague High School, on the line at United Steel in Montgomery, and most recently at St. Patrick Tavern.
Patty will be remembered for her kind and generous soul. She was always willing to help others – whether it was taking care of animals, running errands, cooking a meal, or picking up treats. Patty portrayed a selflessness throughout her life, even if it meant she went without. Her smile lit up the room and she always had a hug and a kind word for everyone that she met. With a heart of gold, she was the ultimate people person and you knew that you had a friend for life when Patty met and embraced you!
She enjoyed trips to the lake, Jake’s, and any adventure she could find. Patty could often be found in her chair, putting together puzzles with the T.V. on in the background or a good game of Bingo. She loved to socialize, volunteer, connect with others and share a good laugh. She lived for her nieces and nephews and dropped everything to spend time with them. She lovingly cared for her mother and every other person who crossed her path. Always positive and uplifting, Patty will be deeply, deeply missed by her family and friends.
Patty is survived by her mother, Ellie Sirek of Elko; siblings, Bonnie Whiting of Havelock, NC, Sandy Rezac (fiancé, Paul Hein) of New Prague, Barb Condrey (Bill Jollymore) of Lewiston, ID, Jake Sirek of Stewart, MN, Tom Sirek of Webster, Emil (Angie) Sirek of Webster, Bill (Amy) Sirek of Elko, Jerry (Lynda) Sirek of Elko; many nieces & nephews & all Patty’s special friends.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, November 19 at 12:00 Noon at Most Holy Trinity Church in Veseli. Visitation will take place that morning at Bruzek Funeral Home from 8 - 11:30 AM. Ellie and Patty’s visitation and funerals will be held together. Lunch will be served at the Lonsdale Legion following Mass. Private burial will be held at a later date. Patty requested no flowers or plants.
Dear Sandy and Family, I saw Patty at the Veseli Ho-Down and said hello and she popped up and gave me that genuinely happy smile and the greatest bear hug to tell me she cared about me. She brought me to your mom and said, “Do you know who this is?” “I know who that is,” she answered. And we chatted about life for a few minutes. Patty was the most giving person and I was lucky to call her friend in high school and today. I introduced her to my California friends who came to see what New Prague… Read more »

Deepest sympathy to the Sirek families during this very sad time. Patty always had a genuine smile and a hello for everyone. I always enjoyed the updates on her siblings, nieces, and nephews. She truly loved them all very much. The last time I got to see Patty was at Dozinky this Fall, in New Prague. The smile on her face as she ate one of the delicious treats from one of the vendors, will remain in my heart forever. I’ll miss you my friend. We lost an angel, but God gained one of the best!
