Marvella Brandt

Marvella Brandt, age 63, of New Prague, died suddenly Saturday, April 18, 2015 at Mayo Clinic Health System New Prague.  Marvella was born April 5, 1952 in St. Peter, MN to Baldwin J. & Ellora M. (Laabs) Brandt.  She attended Henderson Public Schools and went on to attend Southwest Minnesota State University at Marshall.  Marvella was a dedicated Certified CNA/TMA at Mala Strana Health Care System for 40 years, retiring in 2012.  Following retirement, she continued as a volunteer at Mala Strana for a short time before health issues necessitated leaving.  Marvella loved flowers and word-find puzzles.  She looked forward to her monthly dinner with her friends and was an avid sports enthusiast, especially NASCAR and professional football.  She enjoyed her soap operas and was a neighborhood watch person.

Marvella is survived by her siblings, Maureen (& Mike) Rosenberry of Waynesboro, PA, DuWayne (& Julie) Brandt of Maple Grove, MN, Darrell Brandt of Dickinson, ND; 9 nieces & nephews; 7 great-nieces & nephews.  She is preceded in death by her parents, Baldwin & Ellora (Laabs) Brandt; 1 niece.

A funeral service will be held Saturday, April 25, 2015 at 7:30 PM at Bruzek Funeral Home with Pastor Deb Meyer from St. Paul’s UCC Church in Henderson officiating.  Visitation will take place also at the funeral home from 3:00 – 7:30 PM.  Burial will occur at Brown Cemetery in Henderson at a later time.
