Marion Hadac

November 26, 1928 - January 29, 2024

Marion E. Hadac, age 95, of New Prague, died peacefully, with her family at her side on Monday, January 29, 2024, at Mala Strana Health and Rehabilitation Center. Marion was born on November 26, 1928, in Webster Township, to Robert and Helen (Hruska) Havlicek. She attended New Prague Schools and married George R. Hadac on October 14, 1947, in New Prague. Marion and George owned and operated a meat market in Montgomery for 25 years. In addition, Marion worked, at different times of her life, as a waitress at Star Café, as a nurse’s aide at New Prague Community Hospital, and at Mickus Variety Store. Marion was a loving mother and grandmother, who enjoyed any activity or time spent with her family. She was an amazing cook, noted especially for baking the best kolacky and rolls. Her gardens were beautiful and well-tended. She enjoyed sewing quilts, polka music, and in her later years, doing word-finds.

Marion is survived by her children, Karyn Faulds of Avondale, AZ, Susan (Ron) Bruegger of Janesville, Jan (Larry) Nelson of Le Center, Kris (Dave) Ademmer of Heidelberg; grandchildren, Shelly Knutson, Stacy Sherwood, Jason Sarver, Steven Ademmer, Matthew Ademmer; great-grandchildren, Kally Anderson, Alex Anderson; great-great-grandson, Lincoln Anderson; siblings, Leona Vosejpka of Henderson, NV, Bobby (Kathy) Havlicek of New Prague. She is preceded in death by her husband, George, on September 22, 2009; daughter, Sally Berendt; sister, Stella Pumper; brother, Richard Havlicek.

Private services will be held.

My sympathy to Marion’s family. I remember her from the meat market days, and then she was one of my favorite clients at the dental clinic where I worked. A quiet gentle soul, who always had a smile to share. What a long, fruitful life she had !
