Lotte Kehren

April 12, 1933 - March 6, 2024
Lotte Kehren, age 90, of New Prague, died peacefully with her family by her side while in hospice at her son’s home on Wednesday, March 6, 2024. Lotte was born on April 12, 1933, in Beyreuth, Germany, to Karl & Margarete Meyer. She was a child of WWII with her father dying in Dachau concentration camp. Their home was bombed, resulting in a gunshot wound to Lotte’s leg. Her mother was left with her seven children, living in a field for a year until she was able to find a home to move the family to. Lotte’s harsh early life led to a strength of character, determination, and a very strong work ethic. She met her husband, Frederick Kehren, when he was serving with the US Army in Germany. They married on March 9, 1954, in Beyreuth, Germany, and made their home in the USA. Lotte made many people happy throughout her life as their housecleaner; she loved cleaning until she was forced to quit at age 90! She had a huge vegetable garden as she was raising her three children and canned the fruits of that garden. She enjoyed car rides and loved nothing more than to be surrounded by her family. She was loved by all, her family and those she cleaned for to the very end of her life!
Lotte is survived by her children, Susie (Don) Barlage of New Prague, Jimmy Kehren of New Prague, Robert (Maureen) Kehren of Rosemount; grandchildren, Heidi (Matt) Madsen, B.J. Kehren, Fritz (Kelly) Barlage, Kate Graves; great-grandchildren, Brock, Annika, Lotte, Malakhai, Lilith, Cambree, Nate, Noah, Brayden, Hailey, Harper. She is preceded in death by her husband, Frederick, on January 23, 2015.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday, March 13, 2024, at 10:30 A. M. at St. Patrick Church at Cedar Lake (rural Jordan) with Father Michael Miller officiating. Friends & family may gather ½ hour prior to Mass. Lunch will be served in the church social hall followed by burial at Ft. Snelling National Cemetery.

Our heartfelt Condolence for the loss of your mother, we pray your faith will give you strength.
Prayers and hugs to the family. I was blessed to meet Lotte on several occasions at the movie theater with Susie. She was a happy lady who was blessed to live a long life with a loving family caring for her in her final months. Rest in peace Lotte.
