Karen A. Bartusek, age 60, of New Prague, died Tuesday, August 20, 2013 at St. Francis Regional Medical Center in Shakopee.  Karen was born March 24, 1953 in New Prague to Joseph Germain & Mary Ann (Labin) Wagner.  She grew up in Belle Plaine, graduating from Belle Plaine High School and then attended North Campus of Hennepin County Vo-Tech.  She married Max Valentine Bartusek on June 6, 1975 in Belle Plaine and the couple made their home in New Prague.  Karen enjoyed plants, flowers, and collecting figurines.

Karen is survived by her husband Max, of New Prague; mother, Mary Ann Wagner of Belle Plaine; brother, David (& Kim) Wagner of Belle Plaine; sister, Mary (& Dennis) Schoenbauer of New Prague and many nieces and nephews.  She is preceded in death by her father, Joseph Germain Wagner; niece, Melissa Schoenbauer Kerber & nephew-in-law, Tom Kerber.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, August 27, 2013 at 11:00 AM at Bruzek Funeral Home with Fr. John Lapensky officiating.  Visitation will take place one hour prior to service.  Karen’s God-daughter, Mary Terese Houser will serve as urn bearer and burial will occur at St. Thomas Cemetery.  Lunch will take place at the Legion Clubroom in New Prague immediately after the service.
