Jean Swenson
October 22, 1946 - January 8, 2023
Jean C. Swenson, beloved daughter, wife, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and dear friend to many, age 76, of New Prague, MN walked into the loving arms of her Lord and Savior on January 8, 2023 at Mala Strana Health and Rehabilitation Center in New Prague after a persistent and vigilant battle with CADASIL. Happily, reunited with parents, Charles and Carmen Bahrke and sister, Jill Kreuser, many beloved aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. Dearly missed leaving her memories and love with husband, Stephen Swenson, sister, Susan (Bahrke) Holford, daughters, Sarah (Bill) Rosival and Stephenie (Dan) Hopper, grandchildren, Nathan Swenson Rosival, Elizabeth (Colton) Hall, Katrina Rosival, Tai Hopper, and great-grandchildren, Zoey and William Hall, and many close friends.
Jean was a dedicated elementary teacher of 36 years in New Prague, a voracious reader and avid gardener, Packer’s fan – which spiced up Sundays during football season. Jean was gentle, kind, caring, dedicated to family and faith, generous, loving soul who touched countless lives in this world. Her acts of kindness left a lasting impact on those they touched. Her legacy is stunning and will never be forgotten.
A service to celebrate Jean’s life will be held on Thursday, January 12, 2023 at 10 AM at Bruzek Funeral Home with Pastor Art Hanson officiating. Visitation will take place on Wednesday from 4-8 pm and Thursday morning beginning at 7:30 until service time also at the funeral home.

Steve, Sarah, Stephenie,
Sorry to hear about Jean – we just saw this online. Truly a great lady and friend to us when we lived in New Prague. Our hearts are with you!
I enjoyed getting to know Jean during physical therapy at Windermere. Her body was failing her, but her heart never did. Deepest condolences to Stephen and family.

We are so very to hear of your loss. Jean was an amazing teacher who truly showed her students how much she cared for them. We are unable to attend but will hold you all in our prayers.
I’m so sorry for your loss! I’m quarantined until the 13th, but I’ll be at her service in spirit. Sarah you look so much like your Mom! I can see caring in her eyes!
