James F. Tupy
April 11, 1931 – March 7, 2015
James F. Tupy, age 83 of New Prague, died Saturday March 7, 2015 at Male Strana Nursing Home in New Prague. Jim was born April 11, 1931 in Wheatland Township, Rice County to James R. and Mary Veronica (Simon) Tupy. He graduated from New Prague High School and earned a degree in electronics from the DeForest Institute. He married Marcy J. Shambour on September 20, 1955 at St. Wenceslaus Church in New Prague and they farmed in Wheatland Township until 1989. Jim also worked as a maintenance engineer at the New Prague City Hall and ran a television and radio repair shop. He was a member of St. Wenceslaus Parish and enjoyed jigsaw puzzles and fishing when not occupied with building storage sheds and carpentry.
Jim is survive by his wife Marcy of New Prague, daughter Jean (& Ed) Keogh of Montgomery, son Steven Tupy (& fiancé Lorrie Semmelink) of Brooklyn Park, sister Ellen Mae Brezina of New Prague, and 2 grandchildren Tony Keogh of Montgomery and Christine Tupy of Minneapolis. He is preceded in death by his parents, sister Lorraine Minar, and brothers-in-law Jerry F. Minar and George A. Brezina.
Mass of Christian Bruial will be held Tuesday March 10, 2015 at 10 AM at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in New Prague with Father David Barrett officiating. Visitation will be held Monday March 9thfrom 4-8 PM and Tuesday morning from 7:30 – 9:30 AM at Bruzek Funeral Home. Burial will be the St. Wenceslaus Catholic Cemetery in New Prague. Lunch will follow at the New Prague Legion Club at the Park Ballroom in New Prague.
