Darlene Pelcl

Darlene A. Pelcl, age 69, of New Prague, died peacefully with her family at her side on Monday, July 24, 2023, at Mayo Clinic Health System Hospital Mankato. Darlene was born on April 23, 1954 in New Prague to William J. and Bessie C. (Preslicka) Pecholt. She attended St. Wenceslaus Parochial School and New Prague High School. Darlene married Stanley H. Pelcl in Chaska on May 23, 1990. She worked as a quality control inspector for Lake Regions Manufacturing for over 25 years.
Darlene was a woman of deep faith and spirituality and her life reflected kindness, love and care. Her greatest devotion and happiness came from her family and time with them was her priority. She loved birds and butterflies, was a devoted Minnesota sports fan, especially the Vikings, and enjoyed a good cold beverage and scratch-offs! She was a proud woman and fiercely independent. Her determination and strong will saw her through many of life’s challenges and tragedies, including the death of her husband at a young age. Her gentle, sweet personality will be missed by all who knew her.
Darlene is survived by her children, Patricia (Jeff) Sayre of Cologne and Vince Pelcl of Chaska; grandchildren, Kayla (Ryan) Bradt, Josie (Dan) Zylla, Tori Sayre (fiancé, Blake Harms), Brayden Pelcl; great-grandchildren, Kenzee, Oaklee, Jameson, Watson, Remi Jo; good friend, Clinton Wallace; siblings, Billy (Marlene) Pecholt of Hastings, Ruth Ann (Ron) Kopet of New Prague, Joyce (Clifford) Denzer of Missouri, Bob Pecholt of New Prague, Allen Pecholt of Minneapolis, Donna (Greg) Burns of Sturgeon Lake, Wayne Pecholt of New Prague, James Pecholt of New Prague; brothers-and sisters-in-law, Gary (Karlie-deceased) Pelcl, Scott Pelcl, Dona “Sue” Conway (Bob Strom). She is preceded in death by her husband, Stanley on September 17, 2012; grandson, Hunter Sayre; parents; brother, Daniel Pecholt; sisters, Sharon Moran, Karen Pecholt, Debbie Trowbridge, Brenda Starnes.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held Friday, July 28, 2023 at 10:30 AM at Bruzek Funeral Home with MaryCarol Wolf officiating. Visitation will take place 2 hours prior to service from 8:30 – 10:30.
