Bette J. Steinhoff

October 30, 1927 – February 26, 2015

Bette J. Steinhoff, age 87 of New Prague, died Thursday February 26, 2015 at Mala Strana Nursing Home in New Prague.  Bette was born October 30, 1927 in New Prague, Minnesota to William B. and Otillia “Tillie” M. (Kopachek) Janovsky. She graduated from New Prague High School with the Class of 1945. She married Raymond N. Steinhoff on June 22, 1948 at St. Wenceslaus Church in New Prague.   Bette was a farm housewife who also worked at the New Prague Flour Mill, at New Prague High School as a Nurse’s Assistant, at New Prague F & D Farm Supply, and also worked as a Nanny for several years.  She was a member of Christian Mothers Society at St. Benedict, was a Scott County 4-H leader, and enjoyed gardening, painting, crafts, and being with her family.

Bette is survived by her children, Terri Steinhoff of Jordan, Tim & Dia Steinhoff of New Prague, Rick & Mary Steinhoff of Prior Lake, Randy & Pam Steinhoff of Andover, Dale & Linda Steinhoff of Jordan, Sharon & Dan Smith of New Prague, Karen Steinhoff & Fred Simon of New Prague, Cindy & Bill McNab of Jordan; 9 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.  She is preceded in death by her husband, Raymond N. Steinhoff on October 25, 1988 and her parents.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday March 2, 2015 at 10 AM at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church with Father David Barrett and Rev. Diane Goulson officiating. Visitation will be held Sunday, March 1st from 4 – 7 PM and Monday morning from 7:30 – 9:30 AM at Bruzek Funeral Home.  Lunch will follow at the New Prague Knights of Columbus Hall.  Burial will take place at Ft. Snelling National Cemetery in Minneapolis at 2:15 PM.
