Ardelle Solheid

December 15, 1940 - February 21, 2022

Ardelle A. Solheid, age 81, of New Prague, died peacefully with her family at her side on Monday, February 21, 2022 at Mayo Clinic Health System Hospital New Prague. Ardelle was born on December 15, 1940 in New Prague to John T. and Anna A. (Pianko) Schoenecker. She grew up in the Union Hill area, attended parochial school there, graduated from New Prague High School, and graduated from Minnesota School of Business in 1959. Ardelle married Gerald “Oscar” Solheid at St. John’s Catholic Church in Union Hill on September 2, 1961 and the couple settled in New Prague to raise their six children. Ardelle was a model homemaker and helped Oscar as secretary for his candy company. Later she worked at Coast to Coast Hardware Store and West End Liquors. Ardelle had an infectious laugh, a wonderful sense of humor, and never took life too seriously. She loved quilting and flowers, potting all her own. She enjoyed visits to the casinos, “holy hour” at Pioneer and a competitive game of dice. Ardelle was an avid fan of local sports, particularly baseball and followed both Gopher Sports and the Minnesota Twins. Her children and grandchildren were the spice of her life; her signature giggle and upbeat outlook on life will be missed by all.

Ardelle is survived by her children, Lori (Roy) Seurer of New Prague, Lisa (Donald) Simon of New Prague, Kathy (Dennis) Palma of New Prague, Mark Solheid of New Prague, Kevin (Jill) Solheid of New Prague, Kurt (Audrey) Solheid of Hudson, WI; grandchildren, Samantha & Dylan Seurer, Ryan Puncochar, Madison Simon, Lindsay (Dennis) Schuette, Brandon (Mariah) Palma, Hannah Palma (Peter Sikich), Simon, Noah, Avery, and Jack Solheid; great-grandsons, Collin, Nolan, Aiden, & Crew; sister, Phyllis Hartman of New Prague. She is preceded in death by her husband, Oscar on December 2, 2017; parents; infant sister, Mary Ann Schoenecker.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, February 25, 2022 at 11:00 AM at St. Wenceslaus Church in New Prague with Father Eugene Theisen officiating. Mass will be live-streamed on npcatholic.org. Visitation will take place Friday morning from 8 – 10:30 at Bruzek Funeral Home. Burial will occur at St. Wenceslaus Cemetery.

I am so sorry to hear about Ardelle. She was a great lady and whenever I would see her she would ask about my family. I know her and my mom are reunited and visiting about their younger days. Your families are in my thoughts and prayers ❤️
