Violet V. Krohn

Violet V. Krohn, age 86, of New Prague, died peacefully on Monday, August 20, 2018 at The Villages of Lonsdale. Vi was born on October 10, 1931 in Lexington Township, Le Sueur County to Louis & Valdeyn (Preuss) Gruetzmacher. She was raised on Lexington Lake and left home at age 16 to attend Dr. Martin Luther College in New Ulm. She married Orville W. Krohn on August 29, 1950 in Montgomery, MN and she spent her life working alongside her husband on the farm. She belonged to Friedens Lutheran Church Ladies Aid. She enjoyed both flower and vegetable gardening and canned the fruits of her garden and enjoyed baking as well. She loved to visit and was a good neighbor to people in need. Crocheting was an enjoyed hobby and she loved to travel; she and Orville travelled to both the U.S. and abroad, including Alaska, Germany, and Russia.
Vi is survived by sisters-in-law, Delores Dvorak of New Prague, Yvonne Marek of Prior Lake; very close friend & caregiver, Brenda Pederson of Lonsdale; many nieces, nephews, and friends. She is preceded in death by her husband, Orville on December 7, 2013, and her parents.
Funeral services will be held Sunday, August 26, 2018 at 3 PM at Friedens Evangelical Lutheran Church in Lanesburgh with Pastor Henry Koch officiating. Visitation will be held at church from 1 – 3 PM. Burial will occur in Friedens Lutheran Cemetery followed by lunch in the social hall.
