Scott Tuma

February 20, 1967 - February 22, 2025
Scott M. Tuma, age 58, of New Prague, died unexpectedly at his home on Saturday, February 22, 2025. Scott, having just celebrated his birthday, was born on February 20, 1967, in New Prague, to Ronald and Loretta (Biegert) Tuma. He grew up in New Prague and graduated from New Prague High School. Following high school he joined the US Army. He met Roxanne Dressel through friends and the two were married in Cleveland, MN at the Church of Christ on July 1, 1990. He spent the majority of his career working as a custodian for the New Prague School District. Scott was noted to be a bit on the grouchy side, enjoying a good argument and perhaps even instigating one just for the sake of having a spirited discussion. However, his softer side came out with his sister. But it was his granddaughter, Isabella, who captured her grandfather’s heart and showed the teddy bear that was hiding within him. It was a case of mutual adoration!
Scott is survived by his wife, Roxanne; sons, James Michael Tuma of New Prague and Jesse (Hannah) Tuma of Fort Mill, SC; granddaughter, Isabella; parents, Ronald & Loretta Tuma of New Prague; siblings, Bruce (Julie) Tuma of Hollandale, Barb (Gary) Solheid of Farmington, Todd (Trissy) Tuma of Pittsburgh, PA.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held Thursday, March 6, 2025 at 12:00 Noon at Bruzek Funeral Home with MaryCarol Wolf officiating. Visitation will be held from 10:00 until service time. Military Honors will be conducted by the New Prague Area Veterans Honor Guard immediately after the service at Bruzek Funeral Home. Lunch will follow at the KC Hall. Burial will occur at Savidge Lake Cemetery later that afternoon.
