Russel “Roscoe” Vohnoutka

August 25, 1968 - November 13, 2022
Russel “Roscoe” Robert Vohnoutka, age 54, of Lonsdale, died unexpectedly at home on Sunday, November 13, 2022. Russ was born in New Prague on August 25, 1968 to Joseph and Eraina (Stopski) Vohnoutka. He graduated from New Prague High School and was currently working as a utility line surveyor for Vannguard Utility Partners.
Russ was a loving, devoted father, son, and sibling. Besides spending time with those he loved, Russ was known to be an avid outdoorsman, enjoying both hunting and fishing. He was viewed by many as a “top-tier golfer” or “the only honest fisherman”. He and his dad enjoyed horse racing jaunts to the local track. Russ always had a good joke ready to share or to play! He was the best father in the world and will be greatly missed by all his family and friends.
Russ is survived by his daughter, Kayla M. Vohnoutka of Lonsdale; Kayla’s mother, Kim Nelson of Webster; Kayla’s siblings, Carrie (Chris) Jeno of Lonsdale & Nicholas Nelson of Lonsdale; father, Joseph Vohnoutka of New Prague; brothers, Stan Vohnoutka of Broken Arrow, OK and Wes Vohnoutka of Lonsdale; sisters, Therese Vohnoutka of Gainesboro, TN and Jody (Rob) Nelson of Maple Grove; many nieces and nephews and so very many friends. He is preceded in death by his mother, Eraina Vohnoutka in 2013.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held Friday, November 18, 2022 at 7:00 PM at Bruzek Funeral Home. Visitation will take place for 3 hours prior to the service from 4-7 PM.
I was so saddened to learn of Russ’s passing from my cousin John Zweber. He was such a sweet guy with a beautiful smile and energy. Gone way too soon. My sister Ann and I are sending our love and condolences to his family and friends.
He trained me at Vannguard. Always calling and texting me to see how i was doing, probably the best part of my day and im gonna miss it. One of the funniest, nicest guys ive met.
