Martha J. Svoboda, age 97, of New Prague, died peacefully on Monday, July 6, 2020 at Mala Strana Care and Rehabilitation Center.  Martha was born on May 22, 1923 in Veseli, Minnesota to John J. and Emily A. Her children benefited with many beautiful, well-made dresses and articles of clothing, heirlooms to this date.  She was a wonderful cook and baker, and knew all the traditional Czech dishes.  She loved to travel with LeRoy and the couple created many memories.  At age 80, Martha embarked on a very special trip to the Czech Republic with her daughters, where they treasure the memories of watching her communicate with the locals in the Czech language.  Family was extremely important to Martha and she created many traditions, including Rummy and a jigsaw puzzle at Christmas that will continue in the legacy she left.  She belonged to the American Legion Auxiliary, St. Wenceslaus CCW.  An avid bridge player, she belonged to many card clubs, and a very special birthday club.
