Lucille Rud Hill

September 5, 1934 - November 28, 2019

Lucille Marie (Rud) Hill, age 85, of Faribault, died peacefully, surrounded by her family on Thanksgiving Day, November 28, 2019 at Milestones Senior Living in Faribault.  Lucille, daughter of Louie and Marie (Johnson) Rud was born on September 5, 1934 in Farmington, MN.  Lucy is a member of Solar Lutheran Church of Webster, MN.  She sold Home Interiors for 21 years and enjoyed making many new friends.  She also worked for Sodexo food service, which she was able to do at the Faribault Middle School.  During this time she also worked at Snyder Drug  in Faribault.  Lucy was a member of the American Legion in Faribault.  She was one of the starters of Webster Harvest Days, which lasted 21 years.


Previous to this time, Lucy managed a ranch in Colorado.  Before moving to Colorado, she resided in Waskish, MN.  In her earlier years, Lucy worked at the Navy Exchange in Glenview, IL.


In 1994 , she helped her daughter, Carolyn, bring into the world twins, Tiffany and Travis Hill!  She helped Carolyn raise them and was very active in everything they did.

Lucy is survived by her children, Don Hill (Angie) of Parker, CO, Cindy (Bruce) Cassibo of International Falls, MN, Dale Hill of Granby, CO, Carolyn Hill of Faribault, MN; stepson, Michael Hill of North Minneapolis, MN; stepdaughter, Dorenda Hill of Brainerd, MN; brothers, Don (Marion) Rud of Bloomington, MN and Stan “Rocky” (Wendee) Rud of Lakeville, MN; sister, Nora (Don) Buethe of Texas; 14 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; nephews, nieces, and many wonderful friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Louie and Marie Rud, sister, Doris Clark; brother, Rodney Rud, Son Doug Hill, granddaughter, Jayme Hill.


Memorial Celebration of Life Service will be held Satuday, December 7, 2019 at 2:00 PM at Solar Lutheran Church in Webster, MN (4300 Dent Ave., Webster, MN) with Pastor Keith Homstad officiating.  Visitation will take place from 1:00 – 2:00 PM at church.  Lunch will follow the service in the church basement.

I’m sadden to hear the passing of Lucy. She was a wonderful lady, with a huge heart of gold. I worked with her at the middle school, and really enjoyed her. We always said to her that she was our adopted grandma. Prays to the family

I was blessed to have time with my friend Lucy shortly before she passed. For this, I thank her daughter Carolyn. Sitting with her, holding her hand and taking in the moment I was in I began to reminisce. Lucy and I met several years ago. She and I had many conversations about many topics. She introduced me to the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary salad luncheon. What a fun time we had.
