Jeanette Tupy

February 16, 1937 - April 4, 2021

Jeanette D. Tupy, age 84, of New Prague, died peacefully Easter night, April 4, 2021 at Mala Strana Rehabilitation Center and Assisted Living.  Jeannie was born on February 16, 1937 in Webster to Arthur D. and Julia (Voracek) Lexa.  She graduated from New Prague High School and before she was married, Jeannie worked as a nanny and in the kitchen at Queen of Peace Hospital.  She married Arnie L. Tupy on September 1, 1956 in Lonsdale and they farmed while raising their two children.  Jeannie’s strong work ethic also came out in her work at the Snack Drive-In, Green Giant, the kitchen at New Prague High School, and working with Arnie at the Park Ballroom, although the latter was often more fun than work!  Possessing a beautiful voice, Jeannie loved her time singing with the Martha Choir at St. Wenceslaus Church.  Her family was the most important part of her life.  She always had cookies for after-school treats and she was legendary for her pies and cinnamon rolls.  The grandchildren noted that she always made their favorite cake for their birthdays.  In her spare time, she and Arnie enjoyed trips to the casinos and particularly enjoyed the seafood buffets.

Jeannie is survived by her daughter, Jayne (Paul) Skluzacek; grandchildren, Brandon (Brynna) Skluzacek, Jason (Angel) Skluzacek, Miranda Tupy, Corinna Tupy, Zack Tupy; Great-grandchildren, Lana, Lexi, Scarlett, Liam, Eli, Everett, & Ivan Skluzacek & Patrick Tupy; sisters-in-law, Bonnie Lexa & Gladys Eiler.  She is preceded in death by her husband, Arnie on November 17, 2019; son and daughter-in-law, Dale & Bonnie Tupy; grandson, Nicholas Tupy; parents; brother, Art Lexa; sister, Adrienne Skluzacek.

Jayne, my deepest sympathy on the loss of your mom. I remember many summers visiting you at your farm and your Mom’s nectar and kitchen candy drawer. Fond memories.

To the family of Jeanette Tupy,

It was a pleasure getting to know Jeanette over the past 30 plus years that my sister, Bonnie was
married to Dale. Jeanette had a kind and sensitive heart of a mother, mother-in-law and a grandmother. She was always willing to lend a helping hand. She will be missed! Deepest sympathy.

Dear Jayne, I am so very sorry to hear of your moms passing. When John and Larry came to play at Mala, I’d often sit by your mom and sing Czech with her because she had such a beautiful voice. Those were such fun times. I lost my mom in December so I know how awful it feels. My mom also lived at Mala and lived next door to your mom and dad for awhile. Sending you peace and love and much sympathy.

Jayne and Paul and family, Our heartfelt sympathies for your loss. Wishing you peace, comfort, and hope during this difficult time, and loving memories to forever hold in your hearts. Jeanette was a warm, kind, and caring person. If I am thinking correctly, she would have been my (Jean’s) second cousin. Anna Lexa was my Grandpa Tupy’s sister, so Arthur D. would have been my Dad’s first cousin, making Jeanette my second cousin. She will be missed. Keeping you and yours in our thoughts and prayers.

Would love your thoughts, please comment.x
