Jeanette Horejsi

November 6, 1927 - January 29, 2021

Jeanette T “Jane” Horejsi, age 93, of Hutchinson, formerly of New Prague, died peacefully on Friday, January 29, 2021 at Harmony River Nursing Home, Hutchinson.  Jeanette was born on November 6, 1927 to Frank J. and Eleanor A. (Simota) Mikolasek.  She attended district country school and St. Wenceslaus Catholic School.   Jeanette married George F. Horejsi on June 8, 1948 and they farmed and raised their family together in Webster Township, Rice County.  Jeanette enjoyed flower and vegetable gardening, canning, playing Euchre, listening to old time music and dancing.  She served many times as a loving caregiver for many members of her extended family.

Jeanette is survived by her daughter Theresa (Rick) Reiner of Hutchinson; sisters, Judy Siemon of New Prague, Pat (Dave) Mager of Le Center; nieces,  Cathy (Jeff) Dols of New Prague, Joan (Michael) Anderson of Eden Prairie, Laura Mager (fiancé, Kurt Peterson) of Minneapolis, Carolyn Mager (fiancé, Ryan Chadderdon) of Le Center; many great-nieces & great-nephews.  She is preceded in death by her husband George; parents; sister, Mary Ann (& Myles) Voracek; brothers Francis and John (in infancy); brother-in-law John Siemon; and niece, Marge Bezek.

Private family visitation.  Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, February 5, 2021 at 11AM at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church, New Prague, with Father Eugene Theisen officiating.   Masking and social distancing required.  Mass will be live streamed on npcatholic.org.  Burial will occur at St. Wenceslaus Cemetery.

Thank you Debra. Wish that we would have been able to do more neighborhood/association gatherings this past year. And it seemed when there were the gatherings it was a conflict with appointments.

You are special people and love buy many. Every end is a new beginning and this one is for eternity, she is home with God waiting for her loved ones. Our sincere condolences to Judy & Pat and all of Jeanette’s family. I grew up in her neighborhood on the farm, went on the same school bus as the Mikolaseks, and we got hair cuts by Frank. I remember when she got married.
