Henry W. “Hank” Schindele, age 84, of Northfield, formerly of New Prague, died peacefully on Wednesday, August 24, 2024, at Three Links Care Center in Northfield. Hank was born on July 15, 1940, in Watkins, MN, to Henry and Rose (Zahler) Schindele. He graduated from St. Cloud High School and served in the US Army. Hank worked for FMC Corporation, in their internal mail service. He found love later in life and married Deborah Cerny Dady on November 25, 1989. Hank loved fishing, polka music, and playing cards, especially Euchre and 500. Hank was “addicted” to Nacho Cheese Doritos, so much so that the staff at his care facility kept them in stock just for him!
Hank is survived by sisters, Marlene Cook and Irene Kemplin, both of Arizona; many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents; brother, Matthew; sisters, Marie Patton and Clara Moberg.
A Graveside service will be held Tuesday, August 20, 2024, at 10:00 AM at St. Wenceslaus Cemetery in New Prague, with Father Eugene Theisen officiating, where military honors will be conducted by the New Prague Area Veterans Honor Guard.
Hank used to visit me at the shop in Montgomery before he moved to Northfield. What a kind man and he gave the best hugs. I’ve thought of him often. So sorry to hear he passed away.
