Donna Mae Ginter

April 4, 1935 - May 31, 2025

Donna Mae Ginter, age 90, of New Prague, died peacefully at her home at Praha Village on Saturday, May 31, 2025. Donna was born on April 4, 1935, in New Prague, to Frank and Mary (Velishek) Rutt. She graduated from Montgomery High School and met an enticing young man at a dance named Clarence Ginter. The two were married in Montgomery on February 7, 1953. Donna was a dynamo, never letting the grass grow beneath her feet. In addition to raising her four children, she worked at a variety of places, most notably Munsingwear for 23 years and Dispatch Industries in Lakeville. Her favorite job, however, came after she retired, working into her 80’s at Marketplace.

Donna’s life revolved around her family, with an abundance of love, care, and fairness – there were no favorites! She enjoyed nothing more than time with her children and grandchildren and extended that welcoming to her siblings and their families as well. Donna enjoyed traveling, especially to their time-share in Hawaii, to Alaska, and Mexico. She was outgoing, a member of the Eagles Club, a dedicated volunteer at the Peace Center, and a bubbly member of the Queen of Peace Auxiliary, receiving Auxilian of the Year for 2011-12. She remained active throughout her life, always enthusiastic about the next activity to join. She was fiercely competitive and fed that through bowling, visits to the casino, and playing cards, especially Euchre. Any quiet time was spent reading where she especially enjoyed mysteries and romance novels. The smile that lit up her eyes and her engaging personality and zest for life will be missed by her family and all who knew her.

Donna is survived by her children, Richard (Vicky) Ginter of New Prague, Joan (Bruce) Johnson of New Prague, Roxane Ginter of St. Paul, Brian (Connie) Ginter of Becker; grandchildren, Jeremy (Linsday) Ginter, Jill (Nick) Tikalsky, Jackie (Rocky) Friede, Elizabeth (Ryan) Novak, Samantha Jo (Kevin) Rausch, Alisha Wislofsky, Emily Wislofsky, Elliot Ginter; great-grandchildren, Jordyn, Alivya, Evan, Edward, Lauren, Laney, Hannah, Emmett, Axl, & Ace; great-great-granddaughter, Autumn Rose; siblings, Mary Lou Chadderdon of Iowa, Kathryn “Jeannie” (Henry) McGowen of Scottsdale, AZ, Gary (Shirley) Rutt of St. Thomas, MN. She is preceded in death by her husband, Clarence, on February 14, 2021; siblings, Estelline Bastyr, Francis, Eddie, & Kenneth Rutt, Delores Bultman, Lou Ella Gustafson, Beverly Rutt.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday, June 5, 2025, at 11:30 AM at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church with Father Eugene Theisen officiating. Mass will be live-streamed on npcatholic.org. Visitation will take place at Bruzek Funeral Home Thursday morning from 9:30-11:00. Burial will occur at St. Wenceslaus Cemetery with lunch to follow at the KC Hall.

Memorials are preferred to the Peace Center or Hops for Hope New Prague (web.alsa.org/goto/HopsForHope-2025)

Heaven gained a wonderful and caring lady. Legacy will live on in her great kids and grandkids that she raised. The first home we saw coming into New Prague was her and Clarence home. Never uncommon to see them in there huge garden in the summer or playing cards. RIP with the love of your life Clarence. God Bless you kind lady and strength to all your family during this difficult time.

Our sympathy on the loss of Donna. I got to know her and Clarence thru the dental office; always a smile and a kind word. We loved to talk about vacations which I know she enjoyed so much; now she is on a permanent vacation in heaven, and that makes me smile. Many thoughts are with her family and friends.
