June 21,1947 - August 14, 2024
Dennis Wayne Ellman, age 77, of New Prague, passed away Wednesday, August 14, 2024 unexpectedly as a result of an Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm at Mayo Clinic Health System Hospital New Prague. Dennis was born June 21, 1947 in Buffalo Center, IA, to Vincent and Deloris (Johnson) Ellman. Dennis was baptized and confirmed in the Catholic faith and went to school in Lakota, IA. He worked at Robin Hood Flour in New Prague for 30+ years, served as an EMT volunteer for 15 years, a forklift driver at Con-Agra Foods, and most recently, enjoyed work as an over-the-road trucker for two years.
Dennis was a man of many interests – bowling, camping, playing bean bag, Shanghai rummy with his children and grandchildren, shopping trips, auctions, western shows, and Texas Hold’em, and a fond buyer of “As Seen on TV”! When his children were young, he served as their Little League Coach. His enthusiastic support of his family and willingness to be part of all activities will be sorely missed.
