David Charles Baker

It is with great sadness that the family of David Baker of New Prague announces his sudden passing, on Saturday, December 29, 2018, at the age of 52 years.  David will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 17 years, Colleen, and his children, Joshua (Linh) and Jessica.  David will also be fondly remembered by his grandchildren, Isaac, Nevaeh, Gabriel, Bella, and Ariah, by his mother, Pat, and sisters, Leah (William), Ann (Joe), their daughters, Charlotte and Sara, and extended family and dear friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Charles Baker.


A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Sunday, January 20, 2019, from 2:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. at The Park Ballroom, 300 Lexington Ave. S., New Prague.

My heart breaks for you and your family. I have so many great memories of Dave growing up, working at Cedar Lake Farm and and high school. To Dave’s Family and Friends, I just want to share a memory. It was one time at Christmas. I was at your house Leah, and Dave was there. With your ever percolating pot of coffee near by we all began reminiscing about things that happened when we were younger. Dave told of story about him and some other kids riding their bike between our house and at the time Koch’s. When I heard of Dave’s passing I was in shock and very sad. My heart is heavy and sad. He was a wonderful man. I have a million wonderful memories of him and his family. Lots of fun times togather and with friends. Lots of time fishing back then. I sure hope there is a place in Heaven for Dave to hunt and fish. Rest in peace Dave. An amazing peace and calm has taken over my grief and chaos of emotions as I feel prayers lifting me up. While I read all the wonderful testimonies about the lives David touched I am humbled and honored to have been his sister. I want thank everyone for their heartfelt condolences.


Still numb. As I read the notes from friends, it’s easy to see Dave is leaving a BEAUTIFUL legacy behind!

You will all be in our thoughts and prayers. May you FEEL the presence of the Lord ever so close, holding you up.
