Arlene R. Pexa

Arlene R. Pexa, age 78, of Chaska, formerly of New Prague, died suddenly on Saturday, March 2, 2019 at her home in Chaska. Arlene was born on February 18, 1941 to Sylvester and Celestine “Sally” (Barten) Deutsch. She graduated from New Prague High School and attended Minneapolis Cosmetology School. Arlene married Norman F. Pexa on May 2, 1964 at St. Wenceslaus Church and the couple made their home in New Prague, where they raised their three children. Arlene opened her own salon, Arlene’s Beauty Shop, which she operated for many years. Arlene was a multi-talented woman. She loved acrylic painting and had a keen eye for decorating. She also enjoyed playing cards and was a member of a life-long Bridge club. Her friends will miss her as being a wonderful and loyal friend to any who met her.
Arlene is survived by her children, Amy Breeggemann of Belle Plaine, Doug Pexa (fiancé, Tracey Wiegel) of Plymouth, Mark (Jessica) Pexa of Prior Lake; grandchildren, Mason, Kaelyn, & Jack; sister, Carol Ann (Walter) Giesmann of Plymouth; sister-in-law, Darlene (Don) Werner of New Prague. She is preceded in death by her husband, Norm on October 22, 2009; parents; sister-in-law, Doreen Love.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, March 8, 2019 at 10:00 AM at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church with Father Kevin Clinton officiating. Visitation will take place on Thursday from 4-8 PM and Friday morning from 7:30 – 9:30 at Bruzek Funeral Home. A time for sharing will be held at 7:30 on Thursday evening at the visitation. Burial will occur at St. Wenceslaus Cemetery.
