Anna Miller
March 11, 1931 - July 29, 2024
Anna M. Miller, age 93, of Montgomery, formerly of New Prague, died peacefully on Monday, July 29, 2024, at her home at Traditions of Montgomery. Anna was born on March 11, 1931, in Fairmont, Minnesota, to Emil and Lena (Dobberstein) Ulrich. She grew up in Owatonna, attending the public schools there. She married Laverne E. Miller on November 12,1949, in Owatonna but would be widowed young with Laverne’s death in 1997. She had various jobs throughout her life, including working for Holiday warehouse in Bloomington, sewing jerseys for New Prague athletes, and most importantly and her favorite, providing childcare for her grandchildren.
Anna was always kind. Known as a firecracker, she had no trouble speaking her mind, but always gently and kindly. Anna was known as a wonderful cook, famous for her chicken soup and just about everything else. In her younger years, she loved dancing, particularly polkas. She enjoyed camping, was an excellent seamstress, and enjoyed playing Euchre. Her guiltiest pleasure, however, was making the rounds of garage sales. If the grandchildren were involved, there was no activity that was off limits! They were the center of her universe and brought the light to her days!
Anna is survived by her children, Rick (Lynn) Miller of Inver Grove Heights and Wendy Collins of Montgomery; grandchildren, Nicole (Ben) Gehrke of Le Center, Crystal Krause of Faribault, Sean (Katie) Miller of Lakeville, Emily Miller (fiancé, Josh) of Apple Valley; great-grandchildren, Cody, Trenten, Bennett, Meah, Kenzie, Liam, & Jaxon; great-great-grandson, Jasper; sister, Mary Bettin of Savage. She is preceded in death by her husband on May 4, 1997; parents; numerous brothers and sisters and their spouses.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held Thursday, August 1, 2024, at 10:30 AM at Bruzek Funeral Home with Reverend Diane Goulson officiating. Visitation will be held from 9:30 – 10:30 AM. Burial will occur at Czech National Cemetery in New Prague with lunch following at the KC Hall.
Our condolences to your family. Aunt Anna was a fun person and her memory will always be with me. Hugs Audrey Ulrich Packard and Mark
