Odette, age 86, of Jordan, formerly of Elko New Market, died peacefully, surrounded by her family on Thursday, June 22, 2017 at Oak Terrace Senior Living in Jordan.   Virginia was born on August 3, 1930 in Cedar Lake Township, Scott County to Patrick J. and Alice M. (Williams) Doherty.  Virginia was raised in the St. Catherine area and graduated from New Prague High School.  She married Donald G. Virginia is survived by her children, Randy (Suzanne) Odette of New Prague, Joyce (Allen) Shimota of Prior Lake, Tom (Jenifer) Odette of St. Cloud, Marie Odette of Prior Lake; 9 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren.  She is preceded in death by her husband, Don on June 23, 2009; son, Larry Odette in 1953; and parents.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, June 24, 2017 at 10:00 AM at St. Catherine Catholic Church in Spring Lake Township (rural Prior Lake) with Father David Barrett officiating.  Visitation will occur at church 1 hour prior to Mass from 9 – 10 AM.  Burial will take place after Mass in the church cemetery followed by lunch in the church basement.
