Raymond H. Schiprett, age 96, of Lonsdale, died peacefully, surrounded by his family on Monday, May 1, 2017, at The Villages of Lonsdale.  Ray was born February 28, 1921, in Kilkenny, MN to Joseph B. and Mary A. (Mader) Schiprett.  He attended Le Sueur County District School and entered the US Army in 1942.  He served in the European Theater during WWII as a Corporal until his discharge in 1945.  Ray met Marie A. Hounder, the beautiful woman who would become his wife, at a dance and the couple married on September 17, 1949. Dancing would continue to be a favorite leisure activity in their younger years with square dancing being a favorite.  He worked as a Miller, starting with Robin Hood Flour and retiring when it was International Multifoods. In addition to his job at the Mill, Ray enjoyed hobby farming and was also an accomplished handyman, being especially proficient at carpentry.  In his later years, playing cards gave him enjoyment but spending time with his family was his greatest pleasure.

Ray is survived by his children, Charles Schiprett (Christine Schaffer) of Burnsville, Richard “Dick” Schiprett of New Prague, Shirley Korbel of New Prague, Kathryn (Randy) Skluzacek of Montgomery, Kevin (Sandy) Schiprett of New Prague; brother, Joseph T. Schiprett of Lonsdale; sister, Delores Pardy of Minneapolis; brother-in-law, Mike Dohmen of AR; sister-in-law, Louise Vyskocil of Shakopee; 13 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren.  He is preceded in death by his wife, Marie, on March 11, 2016; daughter, Sharon Schiprett; brothers, Milo and Francis Schiprett; sisters, Bessie Sensibaugh, Evelyn Ahrens, Eileen Spitzack, Mary Lou Dohmen.

Funeral services will be held Monday, May 8, 2017, at 10:00 AM at Bruzek Funeral Home with Father Dave Barrett officiating.  Visitation will take place Sunday from 4-8 PM and Monday morning from 7:30 – 10:00 at Bruzek Funeral Home.  Burial will occur at St. Wenceslaus Cemetery, where military honors will be conducted, followed by lunch at the KC Hall.
