Herman A. Beuch, age 98, of New Prague, formerly of Lydia, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Wednesday, January 11, 2017, at his home.  Herman was born on December 3, 1918, in Spring Lake Township.  He was the 6th child of 8 to Ernest and Anna (Zaudtke) Beuch.  He met his future wife, Virginia Zaun, at Bussman’s General Store in Lydia, where she worked.  They were married on May 20,, 1948, at St. Patrick’s Church in St. Patrick, MN.  Shortly after they wed, they moved onto Virginia’s home place outside of Lydia, in Cedar Lake Township.  They continued to live there until 2006 when they then moved to New Prague.  Somehow, even though farming and working a variety of jobs, they raised ten children.  Herman and Virginia led by example to instill a hard-working ethic into their kids.  Herman had a variety of jobs, working at the Lydia Feed Mill, Bryan Rock, and many years driving cement truck for Prior Lake-Savage Ready Mix.  He was an active member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Prior Lake, serving as an usher for many years.

Herman is survived by his wife, Virginia; sons and daughters, Gerald (Margaret), Rodney “Buck” (Diane), Sharleen (Greg) Scheffler, Terrance (Linda), Kathleen (Mike) Javenkoski, Marleen (Mike) Kersting, Darleen (Jerry) Vonderharr, James (Cathy), John (Debbie), and Colleen (Bradley) Bartelds; 24 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; brother-in-law, Frank Busch; many nieces and nephews.  He is preceded in death by his parents; grandson, Jason Beuch; siblings, Eric Beuch, Martha Bussman, Lillian Klotz, Erna Fehlandt, Frederick Beuch, Julius Beuch, and Alice Busch.

Services will be held Saturday, January 14, 2017, at 11:00 AM at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Prior Lake with Pastor Bruce Laabs officiating.  Visitation will take place at church 2 hours prior to service.  Immediately after the service, burial will occur at St. Paul’s Lutheran Cemetery followed by lunch in the church social hall.
