Robert W. Quist, age 90, of New Prague, died peacefully, surrounded by his family on Friday December 2, 2016, at Mala Strana Rehabilitation Center.  Bob was born March 26, 1926, in Minneapolis, MN to Paul W. and Alice R. (Anderson) Quist .  He graduated from Roosevelt High School in Minneapolis and entered the U.S. Navy where he served during WWII and in the Naval Reserves until 1953 as Seaman First Class.  Following military service he attended a vocational technical school for plastering and then worked at Great Northern Railroad in St. Paul.  He furthered his education and became a sales rep for Foremost McKesson Pharmaceuticals, and then as a sales rep for Palomino Campers at Landey’s Camping in Shakopee.  He worked in Texas as a plasterer prior to retiring . In retirement he worked as a security officer at the St. Paul Children’s Museum and as a bus driver for the St. Paul Public Schools.  Bob was a member of the Masonic Lodge #165, the Bloomington VFW, and the Chaska American Legion. He hunted deer, was an avid pheasant and duck hunter and loved to fish.

He is survived by his son, David of Jordan, daughter, Kristin (& Glenn) Nemanic of Jordan, grandchildren, Kelsey (& Cash) Pulczinski of Savage and Antonio F. Nemanic of Jordan; brother-in-law, Charlie E. Fox of Tracy, MN.  He is preceded in death by his parents, Paul & Alice Quist, and sister, Joyce Arlene Fox.

A memorial service will be held Wednesday, December 7, 2016 at 9 AM at Bruzek Funeral Home in New Prague with Rev. Joan Ersfeld, Heartland Hospice Chaplain officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to service during which the New Prague Veterans Honor Guard will  conduct a brief service.  Burial will follow at Ft. Snelling National Cemetery with full military honors.
