Violet Hrabe, age 92, of New Prague, died peacefully in her sleep at Mala Strana Rehabilitation Center Monday, June 27, 2016.  Violet was born December 6, 1923, in Faribault, MN to ­­Adelord and Mata (Plitzkow) Carpenter.  She graduated from Bethlehem Academy in Faribault and married Joseph A. Hrabe on November 23, 1943 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Faribault..  Violet was a baker and worked at a bakery in New Prague and at Tom’s Foods; she finished her career cleaning rooms for AmericInn in New Prague before retiring in her 70’s.  Violet loved to bake and cook; she also loved reading cookbooks and magazines.  Violet had friends wherever she lived and worked because she was always positive and smiling.  She will be sorely missed.

Violet is survived by her daughters, Barbara (Tony) Edgar of Port Charlotte, FL, Debbie (Ed) Kroyer of Jordan; grandchildren, Jessica Kroyer and Chris Kroyer both of Belle Plaine; brother, Leonard (Cathy) Carpenter of  Turlock, CA.  She is preceded in death by her husband, Joseph on February 1, 1975; grandson, Joshua Joseph Kroyer; brothers, Bernard and Ambrose Carpenter.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday, June 30, 2016, at 10:00 AM at Bruzek Funeral Home with Father David Barrett officiating.  Visitation will take place 1 hour prior to Mass.  Private family burial will occur at Meadow Ridge Memorial Park Cemetery in Faribault.
