Leonard Ambroz, age 81, of New Prague, died peacefully surrounded by his family on Thursday, May 26, 2016, at The Villages of Lonsdale.  Leonard was born on May 24, 1935, in Heidelberg, MN to Frank A. and Josephine (Maxa) Ambroz.  He graduated from Montgomery High School and married Patricia B. Zaun on June 7, 1958 at St. Patrick of Cedar Lake.  Shortly after marriage, he received notice that he was drafted into the service.  He served in the U.S. Army until discharge in 1964.  Following his military service, he started driving cement truck for Kratochvil Construction Company.  He would work in the cement industry his entire career, moving from driving truck to a plant manager for Savage Ready Mix for many years, and finally retiring with Apple Valley Ready Mix, where he worked as a dispatcher. He was a member of the New Prague Sportsmen’s Club and the Knights of Columbus. Leonard loved gardening, hunting, and fishing.  He was an avid card player and enjoyed bowling.

Leonard is survived by his wife, Patricia, of Lonsdale; sons, Daniel Ambroz (Tricia Orr-Ambroz) of Chaska, Michael Ambroz of Le Center; grandchildren, Jacob, Josephine, and Justin; brother, Lloyd (Evelyn) Ambroz of New Prague; sisters, Marge Renneberg of Sand Point, Idaho, Patricia Mayerhoffer of Jordan, June (Sid) Thibado of Aurora, MN.  He is preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Eugene and Robert Ambroz, Rosemary Neisen, and Irene Benson.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday, May 31, 2016, at 10:00 AM at Bruzek Funeral Home with Father Kevin Clinton officiating.  Visitation will take place Monday from 4-8 PM and Tuesday morning from 7:30-10:00 AM at the funeral home.  Burial will occur in St. Wenceslaus Cemetery where military honors will be conducted. Lunch follows at the KC Hall.
